Thinking Thursday
Another week almost over, back to school on Tuesday too. Two weeks goes so quickly. Infact, the whole year feels like it's gone by at the blink of an eye with only 2 months and a bit to go (and 3 weeks till exams).
This week has been mostly, or almost entirely, spent at work. Monday, Tuesday and today at Jaycar and Wednesday and Sunday at Discovery. Going from where I left off in the last post, I'll start with Sunday.
I didn't actually do much work on Sunday. I got into town half an hour early so decided to visit a friend at their work and had a coffee. I then went to work and fixed a few problems with a couple of the exhibits. For lunch I went back down to my friend's work, who was just closing up for the day, went to Gillies and got a pie and chips and went back up to my work to feed the eel.
Monday, Tuesday and today followed pretty much the same routine - get up at 8, have a shower, catch the bus into town, get to work at 9, work, have lunch at 1 till 1:30, work some more, catch bus home and get home at 6:15. Going by my descriptions Jaycar may seem boring, but I assure you it's been a great experience for me - meeting so many people, learning so many things and making money while doing it.
Wednesday at Discovery was mostly spent doing front desk work as the other two staff were out at a farm doing sponsorship stuff most of the day - so it was just me, the cleaner dude and 200 odd kids. What fun that was.
On another note, for some reason over the last few days I've been feeling slightly depressed. Fifty billion thoughts running through my head all at once, so many questions, so few answers, so many regrets. Regrets are the worst of them all. Things you wish you did but didn't do. You got told to do things, but ignored them thinking what you were doing was right. And then it all comes back and bites you in the ass, making you wish you could turn back time and follow those suggestions given to you.
To finish off, here's a song.
My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw you face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.
Yeah, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Fucking high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw you face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.
Cherish every thought and idea given to you.
Sleep well.

Sleepy Saturday
I suppose it's time for another post, so let's get straight into it.
Thursday was mostly uneventful, work, until about 11pm. My computer decided to die and not come back to life. I woke up a bit earlier on Friday to have a look at it. When I tried to turn it on, a small puff of smoke whifted out of the case and some sizzling was heard. Upon closer inspection, a little chunk out of one of the chips on the motherboard was missing. Dead as a dodo.
After the initial shock, I went off to work for the day.
At about 7 I went to the cinemas with a friend and saw Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo. It was one of the most funniest movies I have seen for a while, highly recommended. Afterwards I went over to said friends place for pizza. I won't go into too much detail due to the reading of these posts by various individuals, all I will say is that is was a great night. I've also had the usual follow-up 'lectures' from various people telling me I should have done this and that. Mostly that 'advice' is useless as I've heard it millions of times before, though sometimes there's the odd tip that could prove useful in the future. I still go by my own rule of doing what I feel is right.
Today I got up at 7 after having only a bit less than 6 hours sleep and went to work. After work I drove around town to the few computer shops shopping for a new motherboard and CPU, I ended up getting an Athlon 64 3200+. It turned out the problems were caused by the power supply carking it, I took the cover off and found a bunch of exploded/leaky components.
Looks like I may be doing some more shopping tomorrow.

Walking Wednesday
After waking up with some somewhat interesting SMSs from some friends, I went to work. Today was my day off from one work (Jaycar), so I was at my other work (Discovery). During the holidays now, Wednesdays, Sundays and some Saturdays are the only times I'm up at Discovery (Jaycar pay me better :P). I spent most of the morning walking around town picking up various stuff for work, including Jaycar. During lunch I got a few more chuckles from my tshirt, even a bunch of cops who were also having lunch. Most of the afternoon was finally fixing a bunch of exhibits I've been working on over the past few weeks. On the way home from work I met up with the er hot work experience chick again, on the bus, and had a chat.
At home I mostly chatted to friends about semi-deep and meaningful stuff and laughed at Telstra. I got a letter day saying, quote:
"Dear Mr Matt,
Since you moved your phone service away from Telstra, you may have been missing out on some great offers that could rate you money on STD calls and calls to Telstra Mobiles!"
Their "great offer" for STD calls was $1.50 for 20 mins after 7pm. Pity I pay $1 for 20 mins at the moment.
Monday and Tuesday were spent at Jaycar working, as will be tomorrow and Friday. Working there has been such a great experience for me, meeting so many different people, some who have started off with small hobbyist projects and are now doing some pretty big commercial stuff.
My next post will probably be on Saturday or Sunday since I'm working, though tomorrow night I'm hopefully going to the cinemas with a friend.
Goodnight.

Slithery Sunday
Sunday. The last day of the weekend. Also the day before the holidays officially start.
Friday night was the night of the Formal. It was some of the most fun I've had. Nice food, lots of people (with 'interesting' clothing) and loud music. It was well worth the $40. Pics available here (anyone that has $700 can buy me a new camera, ta). On a side note, I've had a whole stack of people tell me both yesterday and today that I should have done certain things that night. I don't really have anything to say on the matter *shrugs*.
Saturday morning was spent working and the afternoon was spent working at my other work, I didn't get up to much.
Today was also mostly spent at work. Though today, I walked the 4.7km into work from home since both parents were also working. It was a nice walk, at 9am, in the nice morning sun.
When I got to work I got to work on some of the exhibits from the new exhibition we have. They came from ScienceWorks in Melbourne as part of our whacky partnership thing and are really well built, each exhibit has full technical diagrams/drawings velcroed to the inside of the small cabinets that are part of each exhibits construction - really good for repairs.
During my lunch break around 2, I visited a good friend at their work in town. After having a small chat and a look around we walked back to my work, after stopping for some food, and fed Monty - works slithery Morey eel that hasn't been fed for a few weeks. After wandering around a bit, saying bye and continuing work on an exhibit, I headed off home - this time by car.
What a great day that was. Now for tomorrow with more work.

Translating Thursday
Yay, only one day to go until 2 weeks of holidays.
I didn't get up to much on Wednesday, the usual classes and sleeping. Something I should note though, some teachers can be, lets say, slack (in a good way). On Monday we got our updated timetables for this week and next term. For me, there was only just two room changes, both on Wednesday. For both periods one and two, we had no teachers for the first 20-40 or so minutes because they were waiting at the old rooms. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing, but it allowed me to catch up on some more lost sleep.
Today, surprisingly didn't involve any sleep. In Business Management I discovered the pains of Macromedia Fireworks, and declare in one of the most painful graphics applications ever. I won't go into a list of whats dodgy, but there's a lot. English was with an (annoying) fill-in, so I just sat and read my book.
Then there was double Jap where we didn't do any work and instead watched Lost In Translation, which now sits in the great pile of crap movies, and consumed various Japanese sugary foodstuffs. Electronics was spent helping a friend build a dodgily designed and packaged kit.
After that I went to work, where I started fixing a broken tape deck from school. Side note, gotta love invoicing stuff to schools.
As if I haven't said it enough, tomorrow is the last day of term (somehow I need to get my PE uniform as well as a tape deck in my bag) so most of the day will be packing away everything. Tomorrow night is also the annual Formal to which I am attending, themed as a masquerade, so there probably won't be a post tomorrow.
Now to catch up on some more sleep.
