Fantastic Friday
Oh what a busy and fun few weeks it has been. I haven't really had time, or effort, especially with these hot days and nights.
The Thursday before last was Speech Night and the final day of the year. A lot of the technical services were done by an outside AV business so you could say it went crap in a way. Afterwards I offered my assistance to help pack up, which I somewhat regret. I should have said in response to the "Definately, we need a lot of help", "Too bad, because I'm not going since I got kicked out" and then went home. Should have left them suffer/be annoyed.
And so the nice lengthy holidays begin.
Last week and this week, and probably the weeks to come, have been mostly spent working. 4 weekdays and half of Saturday working at Jaycar and 2 days and the other half days at Discovery. Lots of money for me :D
Recent happy news includes Mike leaving Discovery and being replaced with Phil and Gary, yay!
On Wednesday I got an early Christmas present from my parents. I'm now the proud owner of a Pentax *ist DL digital SLR camera, worth over $1000. *dances* I've been wanting a new camera for a while now, especially since my 3 year old cheapish Olympus point-and-shoot camera started dying. Digital SLRs are awesome cameras, some of my favourite first photos with it include this, this and this. I think I might be getting back into photography again...
Last Friday was work's Christmas party at he boss's place. It was a great night though I er lost count after 7 UDLs, blew 0.04 and woke up in my new king single bed which no one told me about. And to top it off I had work at 8:30am the next morning.
The list of parties continues - I was a friend's birthday/annual pool party on the Saturday after Speech Night, also great fun.
I also had a fantastic night today, I went to the cinemas with a great friend to see the latest Harry Potter movie (a great movie I might add, I didn't need to remember much from the books to work out what was happening either *cough*) and to exchange Christmas presents. It was a shame that another good friend couldn't make it because they were really sick...
On the topic of presents, this has probably been the first year I have given presents to some of my (best/favourite/greatest?) friends. I spent a notable amount of money on them too.
So there we have it, the last few weeks.
Christmas is only 1 day away and only 8 days until the last day of the year with a whole new one beginning afterwards. I'm yet to decide on what I'm going to do on New Year Eve, I can only hope in will be just as fun as last year (note to Gus: Ciggie lighters :P).
Have a great Christmas and look after yourselves.

Musical Monday
Yeah, yeah I know. This past month or so I have really been bothered to post. Meh, that's lazyness for you.
Exam week was last week and the Friday before - 4 days of exams and 2 handback days. I'm quite happy with my results, mostly in the 90s, though one or two were somewhat low. As our headmaster says, you get what you deserve.
On the weekends I've been doing the usual working routine. For my touch of amusement, I installed a universal remote control program on my mobile. This resulted in some fun with the demo TVs lined up along the wall in Big W, as well as some fun in classes.
Also, yesterday for lunch, which I had with a friend, I tried out the gelati shop near the mall (which I never knew existed). Mango and strawberry, mmm... We also met up with an old friend who's hair I described as being like that of a 'North American cave bear'.
This current week is the final week of the term - and the year. The last week is also usually quite chaotic with the Carols service (tomorrow night), for which we had 2 hours of 'practise' for it today which entailed singing lots of Christmas carols/hymns, and of course Speech Night, though it won't be chaotic for me since I'm not doing/can't do anything for it *cough*.
So only 3 days to go until holidays, yay!
Look after yourselves as usual, enjoy the last few days together before a nice long well deserved break and have a great night.
