Sleepy Saturday
Oh my. What a long time it has been since my last post. No particular reason why, in short "Couldn't be bothered".
*presses rewind button on brain*
Christmas was good. I was at a 'street Christmas party' next door at a neighbours house on Christmas Eve. Much alcohol was consumed. That is all.
Christmas Day was also good, spent at home with the family and a traditional Christmas dinner.
For the morning of Boxing Day I was pretty bored so I poked a few people and we went to see Narnia at the cinemas, which happened to premiere that day. It was a great movie but had a few flaws. Afterwards we went to Cafe Kryptonite for a drink then had tea at Noodle Box followed by bumming around in Target. A really fun day.
For New Years Eve I went to a friends house for a small party/gathering (his er crazy New Zealand cousins were visiting in the time *cough* *wink*). At about 10:30 I caught the bus into town (when I got on there was security guards which startled me somewhat) where I met up with a friend. We wandered around town a bit and then joined some friends at a party. Since we were upstairs in an apartment we had a great view of the fireworks, marking the start of a brand new year. Much drinking took place too. I came home by at bus at 1:30am, before going back into town to a club at about 2am. I eventually came home at 3:30, barely being able to walk straight. A great way to start off the year...
On the New Years public holiday I got pretty bored like on Boxing Day so I poked some people again and we went to the cinemas, in complete deja vu style, to see the Legend of Zorro. Also a really good movie but the base plot was flawed. Afterwards, we went to Maccas and devoured a large amount of food.
The past two weeks have gone back to the usual work routine.
On my 'break day' last Thursday I went and saw Chicken Little with some friends. Another good movie, really funny and very random.
Last Sunday I went down to Melbourne for me and some mates's annual BBQ along the Yarra. This year, about 30 people showed up. Some of the morning consisted of obtaining some cardboard from some little old lady on the Federation Square tourist desk and then jumping around Flinders station like a mad man waving said cardboard made into sign. Another really fun day, (finally) meeting lots of people and giving my new camera a nice workout - I ended up with over 300 photos. My bus seat on the way back home had a quite pungent odour. I wasn't happy.
During the week at work a few crazy and interesting things happened. Firstly I decided to test (and still am) the UHF radio antennas. They are currently gaffered to my gutter.
Then came a 'shocking' experience. We discovered that a particular model of battery charger we sell had the full 240v mains magically appear between the negative battery terminal and the chassis of the charger, and we found out the hard way. Needless to say a national product recall is starting.
Finally came the classic phonecalls of all time.
"Hi. I'm from the Department of Human Services and we have a lubrication problem."
A lady called one day who wanted a box of AA batteries. She said she was from Club X.
Today was a pretty fun day. Work in the morning, getting paid, going to other work, having a big lunch (mmm Chinese) and then going to the cinemas yet again with two great friends to see uh Nanny McPhee. No comment required. I've been to the cinemas quite a few times these holidays and plan to go there some more, theses a few movies coming out soon that look really good.
So there we have it, the last few weeks all summed up in uh 8kb of text... Now I'm back to the usual routines.
I've noticed past week or so I've been staying up quite late too, heck I was up until 3am last night talking to a friend. Might catch up on some sleep now.
Have a good night and look after yourselves.
