Slow Saturday
Yes, I am going to have another post in April :P
Quite a lot has happened this month too. Straight into it...
The first week of April was one of the most awkward weeks I and some other had. Work experience at school. Me and two friends (well I wouldn't really call one of them a friend...) spent the week at school doing panoramic photo shooting and general bludging. We had to make a virtual tour of the school, yay. In the end it actually turned out quite well, though about the only good things about the week was that we actually got paid and got to go to Red Rooster for lunches.
Not much happened in the next week (well, that I can remember) apart from the termly social. I did music again, shock horror, but didn't choose any of the music. It was 'average'. Say no more. I got blamed again. People will die.
Next up on the 'list' was Easter.
On Good Friday I organised for me and some friends to go see Ice Age 2 at the cinemas. It was a pretty good movie, though some of the animation was dodgy. Afterwards we bummed around town, had coffee and cake at Cafe Kryptonite and poked around the art gallery.
Easter Saturday was spent working on various Easter festival activities (or bludging around with a mate from St Johns Ambulance) - mostly in Bull Street where there was live bands (including Tripod, yay! *note to self to send off photos*).
On Saturday evening was the torchlight procession where I had the fun choice of either doing photo shooting, marching with the CFA or sitting on a tram waving at people (Bendigo Trust). I chose the sitting down option :P There was quite a lot of people to wave at and I had to keep changing hands, but meh I had fun.
After the procession was quite interesting. Risen 06. Apparently it was supposed to be some multimedia religious presentation with a band and stuff. And that's about all it was. It was still cool nonetheless since my boss (quite secretly) was the organiser of the event and made me do photo shooting for it. There was also expensive (very) moving lights I got to play with. Yay.
Easter Monday was just as fun too with the big gala procession. I was situated on a big bend down near the fountain were I was doing 'team photo shooting' with the Bendigo Advertiser guy (yet another mate of mine). He'd take a shot from one side while I took one from the other. There was also a very amusing incident too. Some random other photographer came along and joined us a little bit after the procession had started. Interestingly, noticed that he had a Canon flashgun on his Nikon camera. Smirking, I told my 'offsider' about it and we chuckled to ourselves. For next 5 minutes or so the guy kept randomly stopping, fiddling with some buttons on the flash and giving a puzzled look. Eventually he came over to us and asked if we could work out why his flash wasn't working to which I told him to look at the brand of it. The look on his face was gold, one like he had just soiled himself. The following "Oh shit" and a running disappearance into the crowd just put the icing on the cake.
Which brings us to last weekend. Saturday was as usual, working in the morning and then working in the afternoon. Saturday evening/night led me to being badgered into going out to work on a guys birthday party out at the Kangaroo Flat Sports Center where I had to set up a smallish audio and lighting rig and do music for the night - 7pm till 12:30pm. A few hundred people rocked up and there was so much alcohol it wasn't funny. Yay for drunk chicks. Period.
On Sunday I went down to Castlemaine for the annual amateur radio swapmeet ('hamfest'). I met up with a lot of people who are regulars at work and bought a bunch of random stuff.
Last week was pretty ordinary, though there was yet another holiday on Tuesday - Anzac Day. This past few weeks have been very broken up with holidays, though I'm not complaining.
Yesterday was the annual school athletics sports. Because of all the above-mentioned holidays, the trails and the actual sports were held on the one day. For a lot of the morning I was doing results entry and in the afternoon I was photo shooting. I did actually trial for an event, however. Fact: Sprinting 400m without breakfast isn't the smartest of things to do. Though I did come 4th out of 10 people in the finals. *shrug* I also learnt another valuable fact - People are stupid. The amount of hair-pulling me and the other result enterers had because of peoples inability to read or use common sense was insane. And then there was the scores that came in on the back of an envelope...

What a busy month that was indeed.
In light of the recent discussions (or D&Ms are they're fancily called), I leave you with the following image drawn by a friend of mine titled "Life becomes more interesting when you're slightly confused."
