Drinking and deriving
Sitting at my desk here at work I thought "Hey, I think it's time for a blog post". And thus a blog post began.

A long time ago, in a land far away, was the month of January. In fact, it was a month ago. Not many exciting events occurred in January but it still existed.

January started with a number of fireworks launched soon after the clock struck midnight, followed by a large amount of alcohol consumption, inebriated dancing and a stumble in the general direction of home.

Public holidays came and gone and life continued to revolve once again around the lovable working life. Like night shifts.

Then came a barbeque! On the sunny shores of the Yarra... No wait I lie, it was quite overcast and was close to raining. Anyway, aside from the bit-less-than-usual turn out, much food and drink was consumed. Afterwards, I paid a visit to the Australian Open to watch a bit of Lleyton play and in the process got a cool little tennis ball dude. Whilst wandering back into the city towards the train station to return back up er here *cough*, I stumbled across a cool little Sunday market underneath the Arts Centre and got me some funky little cactii fridge magnets among various other knickknacs. One missed train later and I was sitting at a restaurant by the Yarra at Southbank. After some rampaging around the city for a while afterwards for a mobile charger, eventually I arrived home at a stunning 1am.

The working life continued to revolve and another public holiday came. Australia Day. The day marking the anniversary of the first landing on this country, though not many people really care about that fact any more. I spent said holiday working down at works little community education trailer which kept falling apart, yay.

Just to top it all off, first semester started. Though, we get a kitchen :D. I quickly christened the frying pan and prepared and cooked some damn yummy chicken kievs with honey soy stirfry veggies. Later plans in the year include a roast.

A weekend or so later I was down in Melbourne again, this time at the cricket, courtesy of a free double pass from work (donated by Cricket Australia for our fantastic work on the fires the past few weeks). In typical me-style, I missed one of the trains home by a fraction of a minute. I even allowed travel time! Anyhow, that rather not-so-fun wasted sprint required recovery, so I visited my now favourite restaurant on Southbank. Oh how I want to go on another starlight cruise down the Yarra.

Back in Bendiland, study (argh weird calculus magic) and work continued to revolve and rotate around each other. Somewhere back up there ^^^, the wee month of January ran away into the moonlight and February came along. Back in the present, Valentines Day was yesterday. How I regret not abusing works corporate account with Roses Only...

On a parting note, if you're ever confused, just think 'Achtung!'.
