Slack Sunday
Now I've just been even more slack and gone "Meh, can't be bothered". I promise I won't be slack this week otherwise you can er do something...
Straight into it.
I can't remember much of Monday, after all it *was* a week ago. Double electronics suprisingly involved doing something useful, discussing battery charging with Peter (one of the (cool?) lab techs).
Tuesday was a sad day for all. Halfway through a maths test on variation, the evacuation alarm sounded and everyone piled out onto the oval and all the teachers mysteriously disappeared into the hall. When they emerged again, we split off into house groups and were informed of the news.
Mrs Jenkin, one of the original teachers (she's been there for 37 or so years), had passed away. She was diagnosed with cancer early in the year and it is thought she passed away with a heart attack that might have been caused by the cancer treatment.
Having someone close to you, say family, is one thing. But having someone that wasn't close, someone you didn't know very well and you only heard about them from other peoples experiences is something else. You're not really sure on what kind of person they really were. It's quite saddening. The only thing I really remember about Mrs Jenkin was when I met her and her husband on the ferry when I went to Tasmania a few years ago.
Meh, life goes on...
The rest of the week seems pretty vague now, mostly the usual classes.
However, last period on Thursday was spent doing something out of the ordinary. Me and Graeme spent that hour and a bit doing cabling to the music block. About 110m of 2 x CAT6, 2 x CAT5 and 1 x figure-8 being fed through 20mm conduit with fifty billion right-angled bends is fun kiddies.
On another sad note of the week, Friday was Graeme's last day here. I have no idea where he's headed off to now but I'll hunt him down, heh, after all he lives around the corner a bit from me. He also said I'll have to finish off the cabling job, yay. The crazy thing is that there's really no one else that is er capable of doing it either.
Saturday morning started off with the usual work. In the afternoon I finally managed to get orienteering. I pretty much had to go since next weeks event is being organised by me and someone else, so I had to grab all the gear. The course I also did was 5.2km but I ended up doing 6.1km, caused by stupidity on my behalf. I suppose it serves me right since I haven't been for quite a few weeks.
Today was also the usual working. I didn't visit a friend as usual though, since they spent a lot of the weekend packing and getting ready to move house sometime so they can do majorish renovations.

What a crazy week that was, so much happening all a once. Hopefully this week won't be as busy.

Look after yourselves, cherish every moment you have with other people, think positive and have a great night.
And look out for another post soon...
